Too long

Hiya pups...it has been too long! Mom has been super busy with school and now with her research. I dunno about you, but I'm proud of my mom...she is busy, but still finds time to take me to the park and throw tennis balls. Now if only she'd find the time to let me on the internet! I'm gonna fix that though...don't you worry! I'll post some new pics soon and I promise to write more often! Until then, have fun!

Where have the days gone?

Well pups...I think my mom has been a busy gal lately. She's getting ready to start her Master's and works 2 jobs so I can go to daycare. She says it leaves little time to help me blog. Hmmm...her priorities are a little messed up I think!

Anyways...being from Columbus, mom is a huge Buckeye fan. I think I blogged a bit about the indecency I was subjected to around Championship time in January/February. Well, mom is at it again. Here I am looking...less than thrilled...

I figure if I look away, mom won't put anything strange on me. Well, it isn't as bad as you might be thinking. She bought some OSU scrubs for herself (b/c she works in an animal ER every football Saturday) but she said she couldn't resist getting me something a little scarlet and grey! Can you see it in the picture?? No?? Here's a close-up!

That's right...GO BUCKS!! I think it is snazzy. Sure to get the ladies drooling ;-)

Lots of love,

Rosco

Camping out!

Real men camp...! *ducks for cover* Ok...I was just being silly...everyone can camp! But I love to go camping...and luckily, so do my mom and dad. I know I haven't been blogging lately, so I'm gonna make up for it today! We went camping this weekend! Dirty, stinky, sweaty (for the people) camping! And I've got pictures!

Mom and dad like to go south of Columbus to a state forest that has backpacking trails. A plus about this place (for them anyway) is that at the campsites there is a spigget with water. I guess they don't like carrying in a bunch of water. And right now in Columbus, there is like nooooo water. The grass is even all crunchy and brown!

Anyways! We set off Saturday morning...me in my car seatbelt, and mom and dad in their camping gear. When we got there, mom made dad and me pose for a picture...how uncamper like!

I'm the one on the right...haha. As you can see, my tongue is hanging out and I am paying no attention to mom or dad at all. There was obviously something small and fast to the right in this picture and I am focused on that. Who needs mom or dad when I can catch my own dinner?

Well, mom wanted a close-up so you can all see my camping pack.

They put all of my stuff in my pack...just like a real camper! I've got my food, my frisbee, my collapsable bowl, and a rawhide. But I gotta tell ya, i don't wanna chew the rawhide, I'd rather eat ants out of the dirt...but more on that later. As you can see I am styling in my bright orange collar. Mom says that's so people don't mistake me for something to shoot at...who would shoot at me? Anyway, safety first!

So, we started to hike in! It was 6 miles to the campsite....and we were on our way. Here I am, leading the way.

There, that gives you a side view of my big-dog backpack too! I don't want you to think my mom and dad are loading up my pack and dragging me through the woods. It was only a few pounds at most and I stayed way ahead the whole way, running back to see what was taking them so long to catch up. And I have to say...I was sooooooo good for the first 4 miles or so. I had just a 6 foot leash dragging and I never left the trail. Well, that gets BORING after 4 miles...so all of a sudden I took off down a cliff and into a gulley. Mom and dad could only wait and listen. They're not as agile as me...they would have fallen way down the steep hill and into the gulley and not been able to get back up. Well, I was on a beat man...I was chasing something small, furry and fast. I can't be expected to stop at a moments notice because mom and dad are worried. Anyways...I came back, because I always come back...but from then on, I had on the 20 foot rope and no more getting ahead for me :-( I was super bummed!

Well, now we are at the campsite. Mom and dad put up the tent and got firewood while I supervised. And as supervisor, I get one hotdog!

Mom says to not pay attention to her fat white legs. Pay attention to me! Mom cooked that hotdog on the fire and I popped that baby in my mouth. No chewing for me! Right down the hatch!

Now, I consider myself a connessieur of rare delicacies. Any of the creepy-crawleys...spiders, bees, flies, moths and ants. Ants were my specialty this weekend. They were EVERYWHERE! I would be lying in the dirt...minding my own business...and they would scurry by. And LICK! I would just lick up a big mouthful of dirt and get like 3 or 4 at a time! I guess I looked pretty funny...dirt on my tongue and dirt all over my face...but yummo!

I even got to sleep in the tent with mom and dad! I loved that. I stretched right out between them and mom hugged me all night. hehe...she hugged me, not dad, all night! I was on high alert for bears, cougars and other beasties of the night. Gotta protect the family! Well, we packed up and left by 7am to hike out. I was still on my long rope and not allowed to run far ahead because I was bad the day before. Sheesh...no fun! When we got back, they loaded me in the car, and we stopped at McDonalds...I got a hash brown! Yummo! I dunno what's better racing ahead on the trail or getting a hashbrown.

I was soooooo dirty mom decided I would be hosed down on the back deck. How humiliating...shivering for all the world to see.

And there I am all clean! In the house, ready for a long nap! Hope you enjoyed reading about and seeing my weekend! Did any of you guys do fun stuff with your people this weekend?? Anyone eat some bugs??

Lots of love,
Rosco

Painting Party!

So, my mom and dad are not that handy...I think that's why they rent. If something breaks, they call the office, and someone else comes and fixes it. Well, they are getting all crazy with this condo they are renting because the landlord guy said "paint whatever, do whatever, I don't care". Well mom called the color of the bathroom "freaking nasty" so she decided it was going to be painted. (Poor dad didn't have a choice). So, they load me up in the car and take us down to the paint store and get like $100 worth of stuff to paint the bathroom. Did I mention they've never done anything like this before..? I know this because of all the 4-letter words coming out of their mouths while they were in there. And what did I do you ask?? Pouted outside the door like a whiney puppy. I also got so excited I drank tons of water and peed on the floor...ever happen to anyone? Well, don't worry, it happens to the best of us.

Anyway, I was so totally sad that I couldn't paint and so totally sad that they are packing up all of our things and moving it, I'm getting a little antsy. I'm full of questions like "what will it look like when we move in?", "what if they forget my crate or my toys?", "will the neighbors like me?"...I'm so worked up, I'm getting a little noisy in the house. Mom doesn't like it, but I'm letting her know that I know something is up...and I'm not too sure I like it....yet!

I remember last time we moved, I got to sit in the big truck and tell people where to put stuff...I was such a good helper! I hope we get to do that again! I'll have mom do an entry about the ugly bathroom complete with pictures! Get out and roll in some mud pups!

Moving on up!

Howdy pups! First I wanna thank Bubby's mom for buying me the coolest shirt when she was in Las Vegas and Bubby hung out with us for the week. I'll put a picture up later today! It is stylin'!! I also won't be blogging a whole lot for the next 2 weeks or so (but what's new...right mom?) because we are moving! I've been to the new place a few times and I must say, it gets the Rosco seal of approval! It even has a basement with some cool places to sniff/crawl/hide. I'll put some pictures up of me inspecting as soon as mom gets around to it! I'll be visiting blogs, so look out!

Lots of love,
Rosco

Hey everyone! This is me Bubby! Rosco asked me to write a blog entry today since I am staying the week at his house. We sure are having tons of fun...he is such a good host (oh yeah, so are his parents...haha). I think everyone should spend a week at Rosco's house. I've got to admit though, I am a bit older than Rosco and sometimes his "go, go GO!" attitude is just too much for this guy. But, I try and keep up! I gotta tell you, this kid is a go-getter and a big-time wrestling fan. It is like living in the World Wrestling Federation for the week...I think I am getting skinnier and buffer as the week goes on. Here are some pics of our time together!

Here we are on the lookout! We don't let anyone walk by without letting them know we are here too...and we see them! Sometimes Rosco even let me up on his perch to check everything out. I'm gonna have to have my mom get me one of those!

And Round 1 went to.....ROSCO! Gosh, he is quick and stronger than his chicken legs let on. (Don't tell him I said that!) We will wrestle for at least an hour before we decide to settle down...I would settle down before, but then he might make fun of me for being an old man...so I suck it up and keep going. Eventually....you all know what happens...

We crash! A guy can only take so much rolling around before he insists that he get a nap.

So that's been my week! Hope all of Rosco's friends enjoyed my blog and my pictures! If I stay the night again, maybe I'll make another guest appearance! Hope everydog is enjoying their weekend! See you all again soon!

Lots of slobbers,

Bubby

It's been too long

Sorry it has been so long! I'm just a busy guy and so is my mom (she's a busy girl). She says to please bear with us during this time of low blogging productivity. But I will not disapoint! I am here with pictures!

What have I been doing all this time you ask? Well, nothing new and exciting. We have a routine and gosh darnit, we stick to it! But!! I did get some new pictures of some of my hairier family members. I think I have told you about them in a previous post. Here is Aunt Shelbee, the mini-daschund! This is her favorite pose...in your face!

And here is a body shot...ain't she adorable? I bet the daschies are liking these pics! hahaha!

I haven't met her yet, but she sure does look like fun. And check out that pink collar...a pretty lady, pretty in pink!

And here is my Uncle Dudley...the "Bagel". OK...I lied. Blogger hates me...but rest easy knowing that my uncle is quite the looker...if you're into beagles/bassetts! Maybe later when Blogger isn't so cranky I can get one of him up!

This whole week is a very special week! I am having a friend over to visit! He is gonna spend the night and we are gonna have loads of fun! Like the brother I never had! His name is Bubbie (sp?) and he is a 4 year old Golden Retriever. If he isn't shy, maybe I can talk him into doing a blog entry! And if mom isn't lazy she'll take some freaking pictures! Enjoy your week!

Lots of love,
Rosco

Don't let life pass you by!

Howdy pups! Rosco here again! I have just been out and about the last 2 weeks...busy as a bee! Mom has started me at a new daycare and boy do I love it. I try to leap out of the car when we pull in, but darnit...that stupid seatbelt keeps me in my seat! If you are unfamiliar with my seatbelt, please see a few entries ago (and that's all I'll say about that!). They have 3 separate rooms for the different activity levels of doggies. Mom always sees them get me out of the back...she says that's where they take the looney tunes dogs! Do I look looney tunes to you?

And I met a new friend in our apartment complex. Her name is Chiquita and she is a 4 month old American Bulldog. Mom was so proud that I played so nice with her. If mom sees her when she has her camera, I bet she'll put some pictures up here for ya!

AND I have a new aunt and uncle. Aunt Shelbee and Uncle Dudley...hehe...Dudley. He sounds like a chocolate covered candy or something. I'll put up pictures this weekend. Aunt Shelbee is a mini daschund and lives with my Grampa. Dudley is a Bagel (Bassett/beagle) who lives with my Gramma. I guess the animal shelter found Dudley running along the road (where the speed limit was 55mph) chasing cars. The owners called about him, but decided he barked too much and didn't want him back. I'm so glad Gramma found him at the shelter! He'll be way happier with them than with people who don't want him! Now...I haven't met my new Aunt or Uncle yet...but boy, do they sound like fun!

AND AND...I went to the dog park on Sunday. Someone came up to mom and said I was the handsomest dog in the whole park! How's that for an ego booster! *It makes mom feel good too!*

AND AND AND...I start my next obedience class tonight! A few more classes and I'll be starting agility. Maybe I'll get so good I'll be on TV! Better start checking Animal Planet for yours truly! I'll try to have mom remember to help me with the pictures in the next few days...leave comments telling her how lazy she is! Then she will help me!

Rosco

What Breed of Puppy are YOU??

You Are a Beagle Puppy
Cheerful, energetic, and happy go lucky. And you're sense of smell is absolutely amazing!
Huh...I don't look like a Beagle! I always wondered what breed I was and I thought this quiz could help me. Maybe it can help you identity crisis dogs out there!

Wasn't me!

Ok...that last post...not me! Mom lives in Columbus and is going to go to OSU in the Fall...so she is a Buckeye fan. Does that mean she needs to dress me up and take pictures when they have a big game? And then, on top of that, put it in my blog for all to see? Perhaps I wouldn't be so upset if they had won. But here I am, on the internet, rooting for the wrong team! See how sad I look in that picture? Maybe I knew how the game would turn out...!

I hope all my blogging friends are having a great week! It is beautiful here! Get out, enjoy the sun, and find some mud to roll in!

Lots of love,
Rosco

Lazy days for me...

Sorry for not posting everydog (and FuFu). Isabella thinks my mom has me all harnessed up and in the car! hehehe. My mom says something about "having 2 jobs so I can eat, go to school, and go to daycare". She doesn't need 2 jobs for me to do those things...she can just take me! What does she need all the jobs for? Isn't helping me blog like a job? Any ideas for talking some sense into her?

So, mom is talking about having to go to a lot of weddings this year. I would love to go to the weddings...all that food, all those people...ah! How fun! I don't think I am invited though :-( What gives? Mom is gonna take me to my favorite place in the world when she leaves...Lucky Bones! I miss mom and dad....but boy, do I love the people and dogs at Lucky Bones. I bet I'll have a better time there then at some stuffy old wedding!

Geez! Mom needs the computer now...she never stops! She tries to keep me as busy as she is, but I'll tell you a secret...*I'll be quite content to nap in my crate today*. Bye pups (and FuFu)!

Lots of love,
Rosco

Buckle up for Safety!

First off, Happy St. Patty's Day! No green beer for the doggies, or FuFu...but a Happy St. Patty's day just the same. I know when mom has had a few green beers she's more liberal with the treats!

So, mom bought a new torture device for me last week. She told someone that she was sick and tired of me jumping around the back seat the whole *bleep* (kids and puppies might be reading this) time I was in the car. So, you know what she did?? Do you have any clue? I'll give you a hint...a picture hint...

A seat belt!!! Doesn't it look awful?? Ok, so mom says it not only keeps me from bouncing around like a "crazy man", but it keeps me safe too...I dunno...I'm not a huge fan quite yet. But at least she rolls down the window still for me! I love to have my schnooter (mom's word for nose) in the breeze!

So, when I'm not strapped into the car like a criminal, I have been at obedience class working on my canine good citizen. I thought I was a good citizen already, but I guess dogs have to pass a test...I hope it is multiple choice, I choke under pressure!!

Lots of love,
Rosco
